On January 3, 2013 the Lord called Jean (Carol) Gensmer of Janesville, WI to her heavenly home. She was born in Lancaster, WI on July 6, 1948, the daughter of Clifford and Marie Muller. She graduated from Lancaster High School. Jean was baptized at St. Clements Catholic Church in Lancaster where she married her high school sweetheart, Fred Gensmer on August 8, 1970. Jean worked at the Estee Lauder counter at the Boston Store in Janesville for 28 years and had many loyal customers, co-workers and friends. She reluctantly retired in 2010 when she was diagnosed with cancer. Jean enjoyed gardening, going to the races and spending time with her family, friends and especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Fred, a daughter, Shelly (Roger)Swenson and their daughter, Hayley, a son, Phillip and his son, Jacob, her mother, Marie Muller and her brothers, Jim (Donna) Muller of Lancaster, Tom (Verna) Muller of Montgomery, IL, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bob (Sue) Gensmer of Janesville, WI, Karen (Bob) Bedward of Lancaster, WI. Also, several aunts, uncles as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Clifford Muller on August 21, 2012.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, January 11, 2013 at St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 709 Milton Avenue, Janesville with Pastor Jim Janke officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, January 10th at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville and at St. Matthew’s Church on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m.
